The tunic is from the current Ottobre 4/2009 and it is very pretty. The hardest part to sew was the curve in the yoke. It is a complicated pattern with the zip and the tucks but the effort is really worth it. The fabric is a velvet from Holland Fabric House, the cord is from de Stoffen Stunter and the cotton trim is a Heather Ross fabric. The colours are a bit mad -Ha! reflect the head! I bought the buttons in Hickeys as a treat for my daughter who loves rabbits
The skirt is from a Japanese pattern book (middle in picture ISBN978452904526 pattern 's',
and is simple to make, even the neat little pleats in the back which I changed to include some of the tunic fabric. The hardest was getting the flowers and butterflies in the right place as they were already on the cord material.
This is a gorgeous outfit. I love the top and want to make it soon. Do you belong to the yahoo group?

Love the skirt and top....(my girls are too big for 'pretty' but might like the skirt) I love the pink print fabric..
ReplyDeleteHello rhoda, Glad to hear you like the outfit. Some of the Japanese books have lovely patterns for clothes that are not too 'pretty'
